Alpha-Omega Speech and Debate Association Alpha-Omega Speech and Debate Association is dedicated to enriching the educational experiences and social interaction of Christian home-schooled students in the Central Ohio region. AOSDA provides Speech and Policy Debate instruction and coaching for Christian Home-schoolers in Columbus and the wider mid-Ohio region. Families meet weekly on Tuesday evenings in Northwest Columbus.

Vision Statement:

To work together as families to equip students with speaking and critical thinking skills, educating them that they may be prepared to engage people and discuss culturally relevant topics from a Biblical perspective.

Mission Statement:

Alpha-Omega Speech and Debate Association (AOSDA) firmly believes in the intrinsic value of Speech, Debate and argumentation skills for the purpose of defending the Gospel of Jesus Christ and enriching the lives of our students. We uphold home-based schooling as an ideal arrangement for parents to ensure the highest quality of instruction and to maintain control over the content of their childrens’ education, and we see ourselves as an extension of the home school. Our club meets weekly from September through May, focusing on skills development and practical application in a competitive environment with other clubs in Christian Communicators of America (CCA.)

Beginnings:

AOSDA was originally formed to fill a need in the Central Ohio area for Speech and Debate coaching and instruction for Christian Home-Schooling families. Until 2004, AOSDA operated as part of the NCFCA (National Christian Forensics and Communications Association). In 2004 AOSDA became one of the founding member clubs of the Christian Communicators of Ohio (CCO) which in turn expanded into the Christian Communicators of America (CCA) with clubs in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and elsewhere in the US, centered primarily on the upper midwest.
